Twist out

This would be my second time trying a twist out. It really doesn't take long to do. The only thing I dislike about it is the ends and the roots. They need more texture. This could last a week if you pull it back and tie it up, which I did not do. So it only lasted 2 days before I had to re-twist some parts.

So I used the same products that I use when doing the straw set.  I washed my hair and then parted my hair in the middle while leaving bangs. Then I twisted my hair like french braids to my scalp for most of the back of my head. Then the other parts that I wanted to have more texture, I just twisted in small parts. On each twist I used olive oil gel without alcohol. I slept on the twists and in the morning untwisted each section, then added a wire headband.  This is a good style because you don't really have to mess with your hair everyday. I am really noticing that styles that hold for more than a day work well in helping my hair grow. I hope this is news you can use.

New Hair pics

Hi! This week I decided to take a look at my hair length and the overall health of my hair. So, I decided to straighten my hair. I put conditioner in my hair in order to detangle it followed by a co-wash. Then I put in BB-oil moisturizer on my scalp and hair. Then I decided I would use a blow dryer and flat iron. So, I had to protect my hair. I used IC-heat protector/frizz buster (I forgot the real name) in the red bottle on each section of hair before using the flat iron and rubbed it on before blow drying. I can definitely see hair growth, and that makes me happy about my decision to go natural. :)

This is a repost, that I accidently deleted

This is a new hair style I wore after having in the straw set for over a week. I just separated the curls more, and added a wide headband.

My hair feels dry and breaks off in my hand.

This is Taya! I don't post much, but I thought, since I am going to start something new for my hair I would update.
So I don't use heat, and I don't do much to my hair. Lately, I did the twist out and just my wash and go. How I moisturize normally-just simply olive oil and I like to use the hair growth grease. I don't actually comb my hair everyday since most of the time in the shower I am rushing, so I just quickly condition it. (Destiny asked- what do you condition with normally? I use White Rain Coconut. If I have more time, I use my more expensive conditioner, when I have ten minutes to just leave it in. I will put the name on later) My hair feels a lot different then it did in the beginning. I did a lot more in the beginning; shampoo once a week, condition with cheap conditioner, expensive conditioner, then deep conditioner all on Sunday. Then during the week, I would use my cheap conditioner through out the week everyday and moisturize with coconut oil, curl activator, and olive oil every day. My hair felt soft and amazing to me.  Now I am super lazy. I wash everyday, but with cheap conditioner. Also, I have not shampooed my hair in like a month. My hair now feels sick and sad. :) I decided to go natural so my hair would be healthy and grow naturally, so I need to do something.

So tonight I am doing something about my hair!

I brought Shea Butter, because I feel like I need something thick to really moisturize my hair; but not cause the drip wetness that comes from oils.

Tonight's plans:
Shampoo
cheap conditioner (so I can comb my hair out with that in it)
expensive conditioner
deep condition
Shea Butter (leave in conditioner with white plastic cap overnight)
Mornings plans:
olive oil
curl activator

I will tell you the brands soon and if my feel of my hair has changed. Let me know if you are interested in pictures.
