Barbie dolls!

DJWkBR on Make A Gif, Animated Gifs

These are the coolest barbie dolls I've seen. I still remember when I was a little tot, wanting just one doll that was black. Now, finally, there are black dolls that don't sell out during Christmas or my birthday, which is right before Christmas. My mom is now redeemed, because these dolls should have been on the market  when I was a little girl. You can buy them at http://www.naturalgirlsunited.com

Kinda kinky twists on my hair

 Destiny
I decided to try yet another style-kinky twists on transitioning hair. (Also, as a side note,  I found a pretty cool video/channel on YouTube for transitioning hair. Actually my sister found it and thought of me. So I will have new styles, yay!). If you find any styles that are great for transitioning, please let me know. I am trying to learn as much as I can about natural hair styles.  Here are few pictures of how it turned out:

Oil Oil Oil my hair cries for oil...

Taya

When I first started transitioning, which I only did for like four weeks, my hair started to show it's natural curl pattern. I loved my hair and its naturally "me" pattern. When I ran out of coconut oil and olive oil, my hair seemed to be in a crisis. People who are transitioning or doing the big chop and trying to find there natural curl pattern may find oils to be there friend, but everyone's hair is different.

Extra virgin olive oil- is the pure oil obtained from the fruit of olive trees. No oil obtained using solvents, re-esterification processes, or mixed with other vegetable oils qualifies under this description.Extra virgin is the highest quality and most flavorful olive oil classification. In chemical terms it is described as having a free acidity, expressed as oleic acid, of not more than 0.8 grams per 100 grams and a peroxide value of less than 20 milliequivalent O2. ( http://www.oliveoiltimes.com) Olive oil makes your hair healthier, more manageable, really clean, and invigorating. Olive oil nourishes, conditions, and improves the strength and elasticity of your hair, while the couldn’t-be-easier process is both stress-reducing and health-promoting.
A hair repair treatment with olive oil
INGREDIENTS (enough for 1 or 2 treatments, depending on the length and thickness of your hair)
½ cup olive oil
5 drops frankincense essential oil (others may be substituted, if you wish)
1 plastic bag that can fit over your hair
1. Pour olive oil into a jar with a lid, then add essential oil. Put lid on jar and shake well to disperse the essential oil. Let sit for 24 hours in a cool, dark place. Shake again before use.
2. Rinse hair with warm water. Warm 1 tablespoon of oil treatment in the palms of your hands. Using your fingertips (not nails), gently massage the oil into the scalp in a circular motion. Repeat until the entire scalp has been massaged. Rub the ends of your hair with the remaining oil.
3. Place a plastic bag over your hair, secure by tying or with a hair clip or clothespin, and allow the oil to remain for at least a half-hour.
4. Rinse well, then shampoo as usual.

A new hair product that sounds like a good tool for Transitioners

Carols Daughter Transitioning Kit 1-2-3 is a revolutionary kit with products that address the common problems that transitioners face, whether they are big choppers or going through a long grow out, and will continue to help long after they have a full head of beautiful natural hair.It contains 3 products that are exclusively found in this set:

Purifying Low-Poo Cleanser 4.0 fl oz

Renewing Scalp Spray 4.0 fl oz

Restoring Anti-Breakage Treatment 5.5 fl oz

PROBLEM:
The Grow Out transitioner needs to easily manage her two hair textures and the Big Chopper needs to control her curly new growth, so they both tend to use lots of leave-in styling products that weigh hair down as well as smother the scalp. It’s also easier to stretch out the time between shampooing and styling your hair when transitioning, causing you to need a deep, but not drying, cleanser.

SOLUTION: Purifying Low-Poo Cleanser
This moisturizing cleanser detangles in an instant as it intensely hydrates your hair, leaving behind an incredible shine while gently removing product build-up.

PROBLEM:
Over time relaxers can damage your scalp and hair follicles, and the key to growing healthier hair is having a healthy scalp. An unhealthy scalp can cause hair to grow in uneven textures and curl patterns, which make your hair grow slower and in poor condition.

SOLUTION: Renewing Scalp Spray
This easy spay-on product exfoliates your scalp the same way a toner would your face (think of it as a facial for your scalp). It increases the cellular turnover to get to your healthiest scalp and follicles quickly so that your hair can grow healthier, faster.

PROBLEM:
During the “scab hair period” where your scalp and follicles are healing (this usually lasts for 6-8 months after your last relaxer), your hair is brittle. It is also incredibly fragile where your new growth meets the relaxed hair, as are the points where the relaxer was retouched. This causes lots of extra breakage and shedding when washing, detangling and styling.

SOLUTION: Restoring Anti-Breakage Treatment
This conditioning hair mask deeply heals the weakest parts of your hair to prevent breaks, snaps and split ends, while simultaneously adding a boost of moisture to soften your hair, making it easier to manage and style.

I think I am loving this again..

The "always the same fro" was drinking me crazy! I felt stuck in this boyish fro style and I wanted a different look. I tried a lot of different styles but the length of my hair made me hate all of them. I saw so many you- tube videos before I decided to do the big chop, and I was hoping I would get my hair to look the same.

Everyone has different hair types most of the people on the you- tube videos have type 3c which is a really easy hair type to do hair styles with (in my opinion). Type 3c has voluminous tight curls I have type 4b hair which has a less defined curl pattern when I would undo my style it would just look so nappy to me and never really cute. The style would last for only a couple of days before I would need to take it down. Look on naturallycurl.com if you want to see your hair type.

My saver hair styles that has made me love this again...
