I tried the bantu knots that my sister tried and

The first time I tried the bantu knot, I wet my hair.

    • -Wet hair-wash or spray it wet
    • -put a part in your hair for bangs, part down the middle, or part on one of the sides
    • -grab a small section
    • -put either leave in conditioner, curl enhancer, or gel without alcohol ( I tried all 3)
    • -and separate into 2 parts and (some like using big sections of hair for each twist)
    • -start twisting all the way to the ends so that it holds
    • -keep grabbing small sections and twisting to the ends until the whole head is twisted
    • -Then each twist is held at the top and then wrapped into a ball.

When I finished, it turned out nice, but I would have liked more texture. The main issue is, that in the morning my hair was still wet. The waves are smaller and the hair is more elongated.

Why I decided to go natural

10 reasons I decided to go natural

      1. I want healthy hair

      2. I want hair that is water ready - wash and go

      3. I saw easy natural styles - I can do by myself

      4. I think I look better with natural hair - grow to love me for who I am not what society wants me to be. I don't have straight hair. I have my hair.

      5. There are professional and grown up natural hair styles

      6. Transitioning - allows you to keep your length while growing out your hair

      7. I don't want harsh or damaging chemicals in my hair

      8. Relaxers are harmful to my scalp

      9.  I can always straighten my hair with a flat iron if I want a relaxed look

      10. I want more length and texture

      Twisted Out!

This is how I wore my hair after the twist outs. As you can see, I really love hair accessories. I highly recommend getting some hair pins, clips, bows, headbands for hair flair (that rhymes). They don't have to be super girlie, but I am a girl who loves red and pink. This style is great again for those who are like me, and are transitioning, because in this style your hair is now the same texture. I noticed, and I believe I mentioned this before, that the relaxed hair is thinner and looks stringy when sitting right underneath the natural hair that is full. The relaxed hair does not carry as much wave or curl in this style or when wet. I hope you can see it in the pictures above, the bottoms of the twist outs are thinner and have less curl definition. So, once I get more length, I will be really happy to cut off the dead weight. And that's kinda funny, because hair is literally dead, but it doesn't weigh much.

I love my new hair style Bantu knots makes me feel really girlie :)

A quick blog on a Friday night

My fro was making me feel really man like and I have been getting very frustrated with the other hair styles, that I was using to make myself look different, so I tried the bantu knots. The twist out, the straw set, the braid out, and the wash and go, well I hate it all on me. My hair is not like Destiny's, well with the length and all, so the straw set does not look so well on me. The braid out took so long to take down and it tangled up when I was taking it down, which sucked soooo much. The twist out was okay but still not like this, which is amazing. I did the bantu knots dry, not like I did the other styles. The bantu knot is the twist out then twisted it into this honey comb like shape. I just played around when I made the knots but I made a lot of them. Bantu Knots can be made in many different sizes. There are videos on You-tube, the video I like the most, because well I love all her natural videos, is from naptural85, the link http://youtu.be/W4BWt3_7WVQ
